Florida Grand Opera closes the opera season with Massenet’s exotic French opera, Thaïs. Bringing a touch of eastern mystique to the stage, Thaïs is a tale of religious eroticism where Athanaël, a cenobite monk, seeks to convert an Alexandrian courtesan and follower of Venus, goddess of love, to the path of Christianity. Making their debuts in the lead role are sopranos Eglise Gutiérrez and Angela Mortellaro. Sung in French with projected translations in English and Spanish.

Every fourth Saturday at 1pm, 3-5 year-olds (and their caregivers) build on foundations of literacy with an in-gallery story reading followed by a related art activity at PAMM’s Knight Education Center. Space is limited. Pre-registration required.
