    October is here and thus Halloween is everywhere! Check out the different events that are taking place in the community & beyond! Please bear in mind that the info provided might be subject to change and we are not responsible for any date changes or cancellations. Also, we will be posting new events as they become available.     Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival

    Oct. 5-6.  With more than 5,000 pumpkins to choose from,  there’s a kids’ hay maze, a dress-your-own-scarecrow section, carnival rides, shows and activities, a corn stalk maze, and even a hillbilly hay ride. There is also entertainment for grown-ups such as a pumpkin beer garden for grownups, as well as a pumpkin food court that will offer pumpkin funnel cake, pumpkin chicken-stuffed acorn squash, pumpkin crêpes, and lots of other goodies. Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival at Peacock Park 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 2820 McFarlane Rd., Coconut Grove.  Tickets from $10-$15

    Pumpkin Patch

    Oct. 5-31. A charity event with lots of fun. From little farm to butterfly garden. Purchase a pumpkin and receive a free pony ride. 3-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Little Farm, 13401 SW 224th St., Goulds. 305-258-3186.     Not So Scary Family Halloween Bash

    Oct. 20. Experience trick or treating your way around the Museum’s 14 galleries, experiment with fun halloween crafts,  test your knowledge in the mad scientist lab or dance the monster mash.     Monster Splash Nighttime Bash

    Oct. 25-27 & 31. Kids will have a spooky good time at this family-friendly nighttime extravaganza featuring trick-or-treating, Monster Splash Daytime Splash & Nighttime Bash returning for its 19th year on October 25 – 27 and 31st, 2013 from 2 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Including this year Trick or Treating at Sharky’s Sweet Tooth Stations,  Little Monsters Play Area with  slides, bounce houses & unlimited fun, thrilling Halloween themed animal shows, Lolita’s Dance Party Featuring Live DJ and Miami Seaquarium Characters, Monsters in the Mangroves Haunted Walk and more!.     Halloween Dance

    Halloween Spooktacular

    Oct. 26-27. Calling all princesses, goblins, superheroes and angels. From trick-or-treating through the Jungle to the park’s themed animal shows, kids of all ages will enjoy a family friendly, fun-filled day on Jungle Island.     Fairchild’s Edible Garden Festival Featuring the Scarecrow Contest

    Oct. 26-27. Fairchild’s Edible Garden Festival features lectures, good food, cooking as well as demonstrations on how to create a fruit and vegetable garden in your own home garden or as a container garden. Scarecrows will fill the garden as part of the festival.     The Okee Dokee Brothers – Children’s Concert

    Oct. 27.  An Americana folk concert for the whole family. 2013 Grammy Award winners in the best children’s Album category.     Free Scary Face Pancakes at IHOP

    Oct. 28. Participating IHOP restaurants nationwide will observe Halloween a little early this year in a fun, festive and flavorful way, offering free  “Count Spatula Scary Face” pancake on Oct. 28 to trick- or-treaters 12 and younger. 7 a.m.-10 p.m. For participating locations visit www.ihop.com.

    Halloween Scavenger Hunt

    Oct. 29. Key Biscayne Halloween Scavenger Hunt takes place Saturday, October 29, from 2-6 p.m. This family activity will include prizes for Best Costume and Decorated Golf Cart.     Howl-o-ween at Fairchild

    Oct. 31. At Fairchild’s Howl-o-ween, now in its fifth year, guests can take advantage of a great opportunity to enjoy special activities with their pups as they parade through Fairchild’s lush surroundings all the while showing off their Halloween costumes.  A special doggy tram ride is available.
