  • More Architectural developments in our Community!

The Brickell Community has changed dramatically we could say in the last ten years or so, the most dramatically changes are soon to come. The downtown/Brickell landscape will be changing not only with the finalization of the Brickell CityCentre project – a $1.05 billion mixed-use development. Brickell CityCentre is anticipated to bring a whole new level of urban living and sophistication to the area.

The highlights of the project include:

    –           9.1 acres along South Miami Avenue between Eighth Street and Sixth Street

    –          5.4 million square feet of office, residential, hotel, retail and entertainment space, in addition to a two-level underground parking garage that spans seven acres below the property

    –          An environmentally progressive Climate RibbonTM architectural feature that will provide innovative climate control so shoppers can walk in comfort between stores and restaurants

    –          Incorporates key transportation centers with the Miami Metromover

The Federal Aviation Administration is also reviewing plans for what could be the tallest building in the Southeast – a 1,100 foot tall building at 700 Brickell Ave.

Furthermore and as a latest development, the downtown/Brickell area is adding a new project. Mall developer Jeff Berkowitz has submitted plans to the City of Miami for an observation tower called “Skyrise Miami” according to exMiami. that would be located on an existing pier behind the Hard Rock Cafe at Bayside Marketplace and would rise to 1,000 feet above sea level. (the FAA has already approved). The Arquitectonica-designed tower shaped as an “R” will include three observation decks with views of Downtown, Brickell, and Miami Beach. In addition, the project includes amenities such as restaurant, nightclub, private lounge, ballroom, movie theatre, and some kind of amusement rides (Skyplunge and Skyrise Drop).

Wow, with all these projects coming up, the Brickell and Downtown communities will definitely be looking like Manhattan now, what is your opinion about all of it?
