Yes! We were invited to one of the coolest events in Miami this summer, the Mercedes Benz Miami Fashion Week Swim. How fun! Looking at beautiful people, nice sunny weather and learning about what is trending as far as swimwear and summer hairdos. Because I personally try to bring to you something that will be useful and relevant to us living in Brickell, Key Biscayne, Coconut Grove or surrounding communities I decided to interview Dolores Cortés,  one of the first Spanish designers dedicated to the swimwear industry since 1951. Miami is the most important swimwear fashion week in the world where Dolores Cortes is the only European brand invited to show at the event since 2007.

Dolores is very elegant and friendly and besides sharing what inspired her 2015 collection she wanted us to know that she has many Spaniard friends in Key Biscayne!  Let’s talk about her genius now…..Her 2015 collection has been inspired by exotic worldwide jungles and punk icons. Along with the booming drumbeats comes a collection that will call the  “savage women” out in all of us.
 
Seen through creative bikinis, one pieces and radical formed monokinis, beautiful fusion of bold graphics, lush tropical plants, fierce animal prints all adorned with an extravaganza of gold spikes and studs, fringe and 3D floral details.
 
Bright colors are prominent in an attempt to bring to life the vividness of the enticing jungles. Already tempted to try these looks in Miami?

Furthermore, her impeccable collection was adorned by jungle inspired hairdos. Marcos Peña created electric, savage hairdos using Keratin Smooth tresemmé products and wire. What is even better! a designer that thinks fashion for moms as well as kids! Dolores shared with me that they have a collection for pregnant as well as her DC collection for kids.  Check her website to look at her many collections.
