Treat your munchkin to a day on the tracks! The Gold Coast Railroad Museum offers free admission the first Saturday of the month.
Tickets to ride a train range from $2.50 to $12 per ticket. It’s great for any train enthusiast, Thomas the Train lover or young kids. The food is reasonably priced (Frankie’s pizza food truck!) and there are plenty of trains to explore.
The museum houses 30 historic trains and features a number of displays that are interactive.

This free monthly program for museum visitors of all ages features art-making sessions in the galleries, inspired by works on view. Led by PAMM Teaching Artists, this program facilitates interactive and engaging museum experiences with an emphasis on an intergenerational learning experience. Every fourth Saturday at 1pm, 3-5 year-olds and their caregivers build on foundations of literacy with a gallery experience followed by story reading and related art activity in PAMM’s Knight Education Center.

Celebrate the arrival of Melody Ellison! This event will give girls a glimpse into Melody’s world in 1964 Detroit, where she learns to lift her voice for fairness and justice. Girls will be immersed in her world through the music that inspired Melody and fun ’60s-themed decor. Plus, each girl will take home a special Melody inspired doll tee (while supplies last) and enjoy some fun crafts.

The public is invited to attend the centennial celebration for our National Park Service at the Coral Gables Museum. Visitors will enjoy free admission, cake, cash bar, meeting park rangers from all four South Florida National Parks, and listening to a brief panel about the future of National Parks in our country.
Panelists include representatives from National Park Service, National Park Conservation Association, South Florida National Parks Trust, and Artists in Residence in Everglades, Inc. The Museum presents “This Land Is Your Land: A Second Century For America’s National Parks,” an exhibit endorsed and supported by NPS that features the most exciting artifacts from the collections of Everglades, Big Cypress, Biscayne and Dry Tortugas.
