The lively daytime event will kick off PAMM’s participation in Blue Star Museums, a national initiative that honors service men and women with complimentary museum admission for all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The national summer initiative compliments PAMM’s year-round policy of extending free admission to U.S. military with identification. With this program, PAMM is able to give complimentary admission to active duty military personnel, veterans and family members.

Let’s Explore at Fairchild (LEAF), a program for children and families, consists of themed activities ensuring that kids receive as broad a botanical learning experience as possible. The program takes place at The Learning Garden and is instructed by Fairchild staff and trained volunteers. Children have the option of rotating through various stations where they can work with crafts, play science-themed games, complete fun and educational worksheets, participate in planting activities, and more.

LEAF is free for Fairchild Members and is included with Garden admission. Registration is not required. It is open for children of all ages, but parents/guardians must accompany children at all times.

Regardless of how prepared a woman is or how much she looked forward to her pregnancy and her baby’s birth, the perinatal period may include some unexpected “highs” and “lows.” Footsteps is a weekly postpartum support group sponsored by Project Motherpath, which is offerred on Thursdays at The Gathering Place.

The group is facilitated by Postpartum Support International Coordinator and Psychologist Shelly Orlowsky and operates under a peer support model. Babies in arms are welcome.
