Mommy & Me Yoga Dance is a special class for children and their caregivers to enjoy a healthy experience together. This fun and energizing class combines yoga and dance poses for both child and adult companion. Creative props such as animal puppets, pinwheels, dance scarves, rainbow streamers, bubbles, and play parachutes helps the whole family relax and learn yoga together in a supportive setting. This unique class at Miami City Ballet will include a world dance component where every week the class will experience dances from a different part of the world. No dance or prior yoga experience necessary. Everybody is welcome! Classes are held at MCB Studios on Saturday mornings, 9:30 – 10:15 am, March 29.

Women’s International Film & Arts Festival at the James L. Knight Center in Miami.
Ninth annual event begins red pink carpet arrivals and a pre-screening sparkling wine hour in the lobby, followed by the Florida premiere of award-winning ”Greencard Warriors.” The film’s excellent cast includes Manny Perez (“La Soga,” “Bella”), Vivica A. Fox (“Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Kill Bill”) and Adrian Bellani (“Moneyball”). The film recently won the Best Director Award for Miriam Kruishoop at the Latino Film Festival.

Spring Camp 2014: Chemistry Explorations
Enter our chem lab as we explore all things gooey, sticky, bubbly, fizzy, and fun! During this week of chemistry fun, you’ll get a refresher on the states of matter, experiment with various substances, cause some explosive reactions, make things glow, and more!
Monday, March 24th: What’s the pH?
Learn why lemons are sour, water can support life and soaps are used for cleaning. In this class, we will combine different substances to create a rainbow of colors that will help us to identify acids and bases.
Tuesday, March 25th: Nano Chemistry
Help us explore the chemistry that takes place on a nanoscale! That’s just a bit larger than an atom! We’ll experiment with how nano chemistry can help us create super absorbent materials, turn gold into different colors, protect us from the sun, and power light bulbs.
Wednesday, March 26th: The Art of Chemistry
Chemistry is a part of everything, but did you know it can help us to create works of art? We’ll use chemistry principles to help bring out your artistic side as we design tie-dye pieces, create a crystal star garden, paint frescos, and more.
Thursday, March 27th: Messy Reactions
Messes are educational too! In this class, you’ll learn to create chemical concoctions that will expand, fizz, become sticky, bubble, pop, or even go kaboom!
Friday, March 28th: Food Chemistry
Let’s turn your kitchen into our very own chem lab. We’ll use common items that you may find in your kitchen cabinets or refrigerator to do our own food experiments. We’ll also explore the chemistry behind how we taste delicious (and yucky) foods.
